this page haunted me (so I killed it)

Hey Reader,

I have a confession.

I've been limping along with an Expert Up Club sales page that didn't do it justice.

And I knew it.

The design was years out of date. The copy was doing the job — it wasn't quite saying what I wanted to say about what this community is and what it can do.

I kept telling myself it worked “well enough.”

The truth: It was. It was fine. I was making my launch goals but…

Internally, I cringed every time I sent that page out because I *knew* it could be better.

I worked with Kal at Words Hurt Copy, who refused to let me undersell the Club.

He could see what I couldn't. I was so deep inside what the Club is and what it does that I'd lost the ability to just say it plainly.

Kal’s the one who named it: the Expert Up Club is where experts go to become trusted authorities — recognized, referable, and hired.

So simple, and I would never have gotten there on my own.

And that's the expertise paradox in action.

The better you get at what you do, the harder it gets to explain it.

You're too close to it. The words you need are invisible to you because you're living inside the work every day.

It takes someone standing outside of it to see what you can't.

That's what was happening on my own sales page.

So we rebuilt the whole thing. Kal revived the copy so that it finally matches what the Club actually is.

Club member, Jessica Suhr at Perennial Creative, did the design and knocked it out of the park — mid-century modern, warm, and full of personality

(You must meet Social Media Satan, Moxie, and Professor Meowington when you visit the page)

The page now looks and sounds like the community itself.

Now, I want people to SEE it. I brag about how good it is.

Because I finally have something that represents what I've built, and I can't wait to point people toward it.

So what about you? Are you limping along with something that doesn’t represent your work?

The home page that no longer represents what you *really* do. The pitch you've been winging because you haven't had time to fix it. The bio you're embarrassed to hand over.

The thing you're limping along with because fixing it feels like a whole project.

That's exactly what we work on inside the Expert Up Club.

Go take a look → And if it resonates, book a private tour. That's where we figure out together whether the Club is the right next move for your business.

Yours in rebellion,
Michelle

What I'm Working On

Duped is BACK!

This time, we are diving into why we trust influencers over experts and the cult of Amanda Frances (of Real Housewives fame) and the worship of wealth.

Guess which episode was mine? LOL

🪩

What I'm Excited About

We had the best guest expert session with Devin Lee.

She shared how to make coffee chats lead somewhere. The key to success is not what you think.

It's for Club members only...but you can join us now and check it out.

♥️

What I'm Loving

We saw Cabaret on the big screen this past week.

And the end of it is hard, here's why.

(Also, is Sally Bowles the original manic pixie dream girl?)
