⚡️ Your clients don’t want solutions… yet

Hey Reader,

During the last Fix Your Message community convo, I reviewed the messaging on a bunch of your websites and saw the same issue.

Almost every single expert was playing the same darn note: SOLUTIONS.

  • “Hi! I’m Awesome. I can help you do X."
  • “We help you change your organization’s culture.”
  • “We design strategies that drive sustainable growth.”

Here's the problem: your audience isn't ready for solutions yet.

They’re on a journey. And according to Eugene Schwartz's Customer Awareness Spectrum, people move from completely unaware to problem aware to solution-aware and ready to buy.

But most of us? We skip all the messy middle bits.

We jump straight to solutions because, hey, it's what we do best. We fix things. We solve problems. We’re damn good at it.

But here’s the rebel truth: what we think is the problem usually isn’t what our clients are actually experiencing.

See the difference? One is consultant-speak. The other is lived experience.

One is a solution trying to masquerade as a problem. The other is what your client says.

When your message fixates on solutions, you’re playing a one-note symphony when you should be conducting an orchestra.

You miss the chance to connect with people where they are—right in the messy middle of their problem, before they even know a solution exists.

Businesses exist to solve problems.

So if you’re not speaking to your clients’ struggle, your message is missing a key ingredient.

And that ingredient is what gets you paid.

If you suspect your marketing might be stuck on that single note, we’re diving deep into this in our next Fix Your Message in an Economic Downturn community conversation on May 27th.

We’ll cover how to tap into the full spectrum of customer awareness and craft messaging that meets your clients where they are—not just at the finish line.
