[unsettling silence from potential clients]

Hey Reader,

I'm obsessed with the show Widow's Bay.

Small island town off the coast of Massachusetts. Dark history.

Everyone knows the island is cursed. The dread is just... part of the deal.

You wake up, make your coffee, feel the ancient evil lurking at the edges of your life, and go about your Tuesday.

It's Stephen King meets Parks and Rec, and it's freaking phenomenal.

Oddly, it keeps reminding me of my clients (I told you that I'm weird).

They, too, have a low-grade dread of knowing something isn't right.

The sense that something is following you around.

Stalks every conversation, every introduction, every room where your name comes up.

You can feel it creeping up behind you.

As soon as someone asks what you do, you hear yourself answer and think, "my god...what am I even saying?"

🫣 That "my god" moment stalks every part of your business.

It's the homepage that sounds nothing like you and should have been rewritten 2 years ago.

It's what your best client says when your name comes up in a conversation you're not in.

It's what AI search surfaces when someone asks if there's an expert who does what you do.

It's whether a colleague who heard you speak can describe your work specifically enough to refer you for the right speaking gig.

It's the referral that someone tried to make for you, actually booked a call, or died because they did a shit job describing what you do.

Your cursed message follows you into every room.

(It’s the bloody Sea Hag…iykyk)

So I’m starting something new in June to break the curse: Messaging Clinics β€” live on YouTube,

Each episode has a theme.

Things like "Are you actually referable?" or "Did AI write your website?"

I pick a website from a business owner just like you, dig in, and show exactly what's working, what isn't, and what's costing them, clients they'll never know they lost.

If you want my eyes on your message, submit your website.

Fill out the form, tell me about your business and what's been keeping you up at night messaging-wise, and I'll pick the sites that best fit each episode's theme.

Fair warning: if I pick your site, it's going on YouTube. Your name, your URL, your messaging β€” out in the open.

Some people will find that horrifying. Others will recognize it for what it is: the kind of expert feedback most people only get after paying for a strategy session, in front of an audience of established experts working on the exact same thing.

No guarantees on being picked β€” that call is mine to make.

But if something about your messaging has been giving you low-key dread?

Facing it is less scary than living on a cursed island (that is also the next Martha's Vineyard 😜 ).

Yours in rebellion,
Dr. Michelle

P.S. If you're on the fence about submitting because "getting lightly roasted on YouTube" sounds terrifying β€” that's probably a sign your message needs this more than you think. Submit your site here →

What I'm Excited About

I've been heads down building out the Moxie Marketing Suite for Club members.

She's slick, and you'll want to check this out if you overthink your marketing.

What I'm Loving

Just finished the long-awaited sequel to the Midnight Library.

My only complaint...that I read it too fast.

What a beautiful, thought-provoking read.
